Most prisoners in jail would love to escape, but for Farad Polk, an innocent father going to visit his son in jail, his escape from a locked room was imperative. Mr. Polk was trapped in a locked room in the Cook County Jail for over 30 hours, with no access to food or restroom facilities. His 'escape' occurred when he was finally able to trigger the sprinkler system, which prompted a response from the Fire Department. Cook County Jail had recently installed video camera to increase security and monitoring, but clearly for Mr. Polk, this was not the case. Mr. Polk's attorney has filed discovery papers in the Cook County Courts.
